Marc Almond is an internationally acclaimed and successful artist. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide and is an icon and influence to a generation of musicians.
Marc's latest solo album, The Velvet Trail, was released in March 2015 and was closely followed by a sold-out European tour. In November 2015 Marc, together with poet Jeremy Reed and Composer Othon, made an album of Pop Operetta, Against Nature, based on the book A Rebours by J K Husymans and funded through Kickstarter.
Marc performed with Leeds College Of Music Contemporary Orchestra And Pop Choir at The Royal Festival Hall in July 2016.
November 2016 saw the release of the much lauded Trials Of Eyeliner, Marc's eagerly anticipated box set anthology released through Universal Music.
Following Trials Of Eyeliner, Marc released a Greatest Hits collection, Hits And Pieces, once again through Universal, in March 2017. With so many career highlights featured within the 2-disc set it was no surprise to see the album push Marc firmly back into the UK Top 10 and this was further supplemented with a number of high profile TV and radio appearances. Shortly after the album's release came a sold-out UK tour culminating in a triumphant show at London's Roundhouse.
Marc unveiled a brand-new album, Shadows And Reflections, in September 2017, his first for the BMG label after signing a new 3 year 2 album deal. A labour of love, it was a heavily orchestrated collection of baroque pop nuggets from the 1960's for which Marc is revered. Shadows And Reflections was followed by a 20 date orchestral UK Tour.
Mr Almond had the great pleasure of accepting the honor of OBE in March 2018.
The seminal electronic duo Soft Cell (Marc Almond/Dave Ball) celebrated their 40th year in 2018 with the release of their anthology, through UMC, on 7 September 2018. Entitled Keychains & Snowstorms: The Soft Cell Story, this ten-disc Box Set featured nine CDs and a DVD, encompassing both phases of their illustrious career from 1978 to 1984 and the 2001-3 reunion. It's the story of 21 million records sold worldwide. 13 UK chart singles, five of them Top 10 hits, two gold and one platinum selling albums.
Marc Almond will release a new album of original songs in 2019 through BMG.

The Castro Theatre was built in 1922 by pioneer San Francisco theatre entrepreneurs, the Nasser brothers, who started with a nickelodeon in 1908 in the Castro neighborhood.
The Castro was built at a cost of $300,000. The Castro's designer was Timothy L. Pflueger (1894-1946) who went on to become a famous Bay Area architect. In 1977, the Castro was designated City of San Francisco registered landmark number 100. It is one of the few remaining movie palaces in the nation from the 1920s that is still in operation.
